It's quiet here, isn't it? Since it's so quiet I thought I'd post a photo: ![]() |

OK, now you really can't just drop in some photos without giving any details!! Tell us about them, especially the one in the middle. |

That's one of my 23 inch scale travel resos that I've just finished. Square neck, 9 inch spider cone, tasmanian blackwood back & sides, maple top, mahogany neck. The others are also squarenecks, 000 size bodies, with a standard dobro cone. One has a walnut back & sides and a wenge/maple neck, the other is mahogany. ![]() |

I agree, very nicely done! How did you decide on the size and shape of the travel reso? |

The first thing to decide was the scale length - I went for 23 inches because I have a Baby Taylor so I knew I could tune to standard dobro tuning with that scale. I was looking around for a shape that wasn't the usual travel guitar and a friend suggested the shape of a Rickenbacker lap steel. I got a photo off the Internet, converted it to a "drawing" effect with photo editing software and blew it up on a photocopier till it fitted the scale length. |

Beautiful as always Pete! Good idea using the Allen tailpiece to help with the too-short overhang on the little fella. Those Allen units are really nice, just pricey! I've got a new one to post too (this place is SO quiet!), just need to get around to taking pics. |
